The Adams Family Vacation

I just received an email from a long time client Maggie S. and she had some concerns that we had not been posting on our blog for a while and she was checking in to make sure we were all OK! What a great lady, that is why we love our clients:) I explained to Maggie that I certainly would be posting and that I would share some pics showing what we have been up to this last month. So for anyone else who maybe interested here goes……

Well, Its good to be back after a great family pilgrimage to the UK to visit family and friends. Myself, Lori and our three kids visited some fantastic places. After a flight from Atlanta to Heathrow we headed to my Aunts in Abbots Langley (just northwest of London). We left Abbots Langley the next day and headed for Bristol to catch up with long time friends that Lori and I knew from our time on cruise ships.  We had an impromptu stop at Windsor Castle on the way and a river tour that took us past the famous Eton College. In Bristol we did a lot of catching up and went hiking and touring the surrounding areas. I was fortunate enough to go for a fantastic motorcycle ride with my buddy Ed. Thanks to another good friend Chris, who selflessly lent me his motorcycle. I had the chance to ride on a tricked out Triumph Bonneville scrambler, I couldn’t have picked a more perfect bike to bomb around the country lanes of England on!  From there we went to Wales to hike The Brecon Beacons National Park. We hiked up a stream at Capel-y-ffin in Wales and enjoyed an amazing view over Hereford England (the home of Britain’s SAS) We spent the day in Glastonbury and hiked up to the Glastonbury Tor. We went all over East Anglia, including places like Bury St Edmunds, We stayed in Woolpit (Google “The Woolpit Whiff”:)) for a couple of nights. We went punting on the River Cam in Cambridge. We went to a Maize, Maze in Southwold,  We visited The Woodbridge Tide Mill in Suffolk. We visited Thetford Forest in Norfolk and did a zipline course through the forest called Go Ape. We spent the day in London and visited The Shard and Borough Market. Not forgetting the place I did most of my growing up, the rural Essex village of Tolleshunt Knights. The location of my childhood family home and public house, The Rose and Crown.
All in all it was a fantastic trip. We got to reconnect with lots of great people. I hope our three kids have made new memories for life.
Thanks to all the people that helped make it that little bit more special.
Now back to an exciting new season and year:)

Watch Orangetheory Fitness in Ft. Myers do the “Harlem Shake”

Lori and I both go to Orangetheory Fitness in Fort Myers to work out. It’s a fantastic gym and I would highly recommend it to anyone  who is looking for something a little different. They offer a 60-minute workout session split into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training with heart rate monitors to track intensity and maximize metabolic burn. You have a trainer for each class that calls out the exercises and motivates you to keep you in “the orange zone”.  It’s a great concept and an inspiring place to workout.  The trainers are very passionate about what they do. On Sunday we went to a function at the gym where they were awarding the winners of a recent weight loss challenge.  Each male and female winner received a $500 check from Orangetheory. Another member and friendly face at the gym, George, who happens to own an excellent hair salon on Collage Parkway called ‘George John Salon‘  kindly donated a makeover at his salon for the winners.  We donated a makeover photo shoot for each of the winners (which we will post later). I am proud to say a wedding client from 2006, Jason was the male winner. Well done Jason! We also are very proud of our brother -in-law Tom, who lost 35lbs during the 6 week weight loss challenge.  You da man Tommy! While we were there, the studio manager, Amber, had planned to do a Harlem Shake and I volunteered to video it for them. The rest is history:) It was a lot of fun!  Beers, wine and Popz BBQ  provided by the hosts and Mike from Run Florida even gave an informative talk on the right kind of shoes.
